Mrinalini’s journalism career spans more than a decade across two continents in television, print, and digital newsrooms. She began as a business television reporter for CNBC TV18 in India working on breaking news, reporting on stock markets and economic policy, and producing television shows on investor education. Her stories have also been featured in numerous Indian financial newspapers such as The Economic Times, Business Standard, and Mint.

Prior to joining The Balance in February 2021, she was a reporter for Financial Advisor IQ, a Financial Times publication geared toward financial advisors and wealth managers. Before that, Mrinalini was an editor at Investopedia heading news coverage and editing a daily newsletter.

Her other experience includes working on the Forbes’ flagship 400 Richest Americans list in 2016.

Education

Mrinalini earned her master’s in business and economic reporting from New York University. She also holds a master’s in mass communication, specializing in journalism, from the Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication and a bachelor’s with honors in economics from the University of Delhi.
